Second Odyssey: September 2022 – An Autumnal Romance Rekindled
Day 1: A Journey of Love on Rails
Evening Journey: We traveled from Paris to Amsterdam aboard the THALYS, hearts fluttering with anticipation as the train tracks composed the prelude to our autumn love story in the city of dreams.
Our stay at the Inntel Hotel Zaandam offered a serene escape, nestled by the tranquil lake waters and surrounded by whispered legends.
Day 2: Whispers of History in Zaandam
Daytime Exploration: We immersed ourselves in the rustic charm of Zaanse Schans , where iconic windmills and traditional cheese-making brought Dutch heritage to life.
Our journey continued to the picturesque villages of Volendam (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) and Marken (3/5 ⭐⭐⭐), each offering a peaceful and serene environment. Highly recommended for those seeking tranquility and a glimpse of authentic Dutch culture.
Morning in Zaandam: We began our day with a feast of local flavors, a delightful prelude to a day dedicated to rest and embracing the serene pace of Dutch life .
Afternoon and Evening: Leisurely strolls through Primark brought simple joys, a reminder of the beauty in life’s quiet moments. This was our 5th day into the trip, traveling from Paris, so we took this opportunity to relax and indulge in crisp MANNEKENPIS fries (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) and delicious waffles at the city center.
